Function
- promotes growth & fasciculation of neurites from cultured hippocampal neurons
- may be involved in fasciculation as well as myelination of developing neural axons
- may have a role in regeneration as well as neural plasticity in the adult nervous system
- may mediate homophilic & heterophilic cell-cell interaction & may contribute to signal transduction through it intracellular domain
- binds itself as well as AMIGO2 & AMIGO3
Structure
- belongs to the immunoglobulin superfamily
- contains 1 Ig-like C2-type (immunoglobulin-like) domain
- contains 6 LRR repeats (leucine-rich repeats)
