• recognizes & binds to sequence 5'-RTTAYGTAAY-3' found in promoter of albumin, CYP2A4 & CYP2A5 genes
• modulates clock output genes, but not essential for circadian rhythm generation
• regulation by circadian pacemaker component clock (putative)
• role in circadian period & sleep regulation.
• binds DNA as a homodimer or a heterodimer
• forms heterodimer with TEF
