Introduction

Calcification of fibrocartilage & hyaline articular cartilage.

Clinical manifestations

  • involvement of hands, wrists, pelvis &/or knees
  • may present as arthritis or pseudoneuropathic pain
  • may be asymptomatic

Laboratory

Differential diagnosis

Management

  • see specific etiology or CPPD disease
  • asymptomatic disease needs no treatment[5]
