Function
- regulator of notch signaling
- probably acts both as a positive & negative regulator of notch, depending on the developmental & cell context
- mediates anti-neural activity of notch, possibly by inhibiting transcriptional activation mediated by MATCH1
- functions as an ubiquitin ligase protein in vitro, suggesting that it may regulate the notch pathway via some ubiquitin ligase activity
- homomultimer
- may form a heteromultimer with other members of the deltex family
- interacts with NOTCH1
Structure
- the WWE domains are thought to mediate some protein-protein interaction, & are frequently found in ubiquitin ligases
- belongs to the deltex family
- contains 1 RING-type Zn+2 finger
- contains 2 WWE domains
Compartment
- cytoplasm, nucleus
- predominantly cytoplasmic
- partially nuclear
Alternative splicing
named isoforms=2
