Function

• component of VLDL
• activator of several triacylglycerol lipases
• association of APOC2 with plasma chylomicrons, VLDL, & HDL is reversible, a function of the secretion & catabolism of triglyceride-rich lipoproteins, & changes rapidly
• inhibits binding of VLDL & chylomicrons to hepatic receptors thus targeting them for extrahepatic clearance
