belongs to the cyclin family, cyclin AB subfamily

Expression

  • accumulates steadily during G2 & is abruptly destroyed at mitosis
  • G2-specific cyclin B1
  • maximum concentrations are reached about mid G2
  • tail end of cyclin B1 expression may extend into early M-phase
