Function

• regulates leading edge dynamics & cell motility in fibroblast
• role in cytokinesis & signal transduction
• forms homo-oligomers, but does not form complexes with the other coronins
• interacts with Arp2/3 complex components, including ACTR2, ARPC1B, ARPC2
• phosphorylation by PKC on Ser-2 regulates interaction Arp2/3 complex & cell motility in fibroblasts
• binds actin

Structure

• belongs to the WD repeat coronin family
• contains 5 WD repeats

Compartment

• cytoplasm, cytoskeleton
• localized to the leading edge in fibroblasts
• weakly localized along actin stress fibers
• phosphorylation does not seem to affect subcellular location
