Function
- regulates leading edge dynamics & cell motility in fibroblast
- role in cytokinesis & signal transduction
- forms homo-oligomers, but does not form complexes with the other coronins
- interacts with Arp2/3 complex components, including ACTR2, ARPC1B, ARPC2
- phosphorylation by PKC on Ser-2 regulates interaction Arp2/3 complex & cell motility in fibroblasts
- binds actin
Structure
- belongs to the WD repeat coronin family
- contains 5 WD repeats
Compartment
- cytoplasm, cytoskeleton
- localized to the leading edge in fibroblasts
- weakly localized along actin stress fibers
- phosphorylation does not seem to affect subcellular location
