Function
- exoribonuclease by default; substrate unknown
Structure
- belongs to the REXO1/REXO3 family
- contains 1 exonuclease domain
Compartment
cytoplasm, nucleus (probable) Evolutionary biology:
- human GOR does not contain the GOR47-1 epitope present in chimpanzee GOR
Pathology
- individuals with hepatitis C may have antibodies against the GOR47-1 epitope, despite its absence in humans
Notes
- could be the product of a pseudogene
- uncertain whether Met-1 or Met-47 is the initiator
