- expressed in brain, notably in regions involved in long-term potentiation & long-term depression, including hippocampal CA1 & CA3, dentate gyrus & cerebellar purkinje layer
Genetics
- located on the opposite DNA strand of the CNGA1 gene at chromosome 4p13
- transcription may play a role in CNGA1 transcription regulation
- could be the product of a pseudogene[2]
