Introduction
Aortic component of 2nd heart sound (S2), or A2, reflecting closure of the aortic valve which normally precedes P2 (closure of pulmonic valve).
Loud A2: systemic hypertension
Soft A2: aortic stenosis, heavily calcified aortic valve
