Etiology
- Chiari Malformation type 1
- spinal cord trauma
- neoplasm
Epidemiology
- occurs primarily in adults
Pathology
- closed cavity wirhin the spinal cord
Clinical manifestations
- weakness of hands or feet
- analgesia or shooting pains in extremities
- signs of upper motor neuron & lower motor neuron lesions may be present
Radiology
- erosion of spinal canal
- widening of interpedicular spaces
- irregularity of articular surfaces & subchondral bone
