Introduction

A neuron within the cerebral cortex (motor cortex) contributing to the corticospinal tract or corticobulbar tract.

Not true motor neurons.

Distinguish from lower motor neurons (true motor neurons).

Pathology

  • lesions result in upper motor neuron signs
