Etiology

(probable)

• Wuchereria bancrofti
• Brugia malayi

Clinical manifestations

• nocturnal cough
• dyspnea
• wheezing
• fever
• weight loss
• malaise

Laboratory

• complete blood count (CBC) with differential
  • eosiniphilia (20-50%)

Radiology

• chest X-ray
  • normal or may show diffuse reticulonodular infiltrates

Management

• diethylcarbamazine citrate (Hetrazan)
