- most common benign tumor of the liver.
Pathology
benign
Radiology
- hyperechoic lesion by ultrasound
- confirm with
- magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) or
- contrast-enhanced computed tomography (CT)
- peripheral nodular enhancement
- progressive centripetal contrast enhancemtn
- technetium-labeled RBC scan
Management
- follow-up ultrasound in 6 months
- in general, avoid biopsy due to bleeding risk, except
- fine needle aspiration, biopsy or resection if lesion enlarges
