Function

• supports the intracellular PIP pool & to a lesser extent, the PtdIns(4,5)P2 pool
• generates PIP from PI &, to a lesser extent, PtdIns(4,5)P2 pool from PtdIns4P
• indications that it phosphorylates the D-5 rather than the D-4 position
• role in endosome-related membrane trafficking (putative)
