Hunner's ulcer

Introduction

A focal & often multiple lesion involving all layers of the bladder wall.

Etiology

• chronic interstitial cystitis

Pathology

• the surface of the bladder epithelium is destroyed by inflammation
• the initial lesion cracks & bleeds with bladder distention
