Indications
- long-term enteral feedings
- impaired gastric emptying
- requires continuous drip with pump
Procedure
- percutaneous placement endoscopically or radiographically via pylorus or surgically into the jejunum
- sutured into the abdominal wall using fine-bore tube or larger tube
Complications
- clogging or displacement of tube
- jejunal fistula if large-bore tube used
- diarrhea
- peritonitis
- GI bleed
- ileus
- bowel obstruction
- bowel perforation
