Introduction

Randomized, multicenter study within the Veterans Administration system.

Investigated invasive versus conservative ischemia-guided strategies in 876 patients with non-Q-wave myocardial infarction.

The invasive group received coronary angiography post-MI.

Conservative strategy may be better. Patients with persistent ischemia & those with elevated troponin-I may benefit from coronary angiography & revascularization. See TACTICS-TIMI trial.
