Introduction

Formed by the iliac fossa & wing of sacrum.

The false pelvis is:

• superior to the pelvic inlet
• the location of some abdominal viscera (e.g., the ileum & sigmoid colon
• bounded by the abdominal wall anteriorly iliac fossa posterolaterally & L5 & S1 vertebrae posteriorly .
