Introduction
Body temperature regulation undergoes change with aging.
Physiology
- decreased sensation of cold
- impaired shivering
- inadequate thermogenesis
- decreased cutaneous vascoconstriction & vasodilation
- decreased sweat production
- increased core temperature to initiate sweating
- loss of subcutaneous fat
- impaired temperature regulation[5]
