Etiology
- often caused by puncture wounds[1]
- superficial wounds
- deep wounds
- pyogenic flexor tenosynovitis
- penetrating injury to the finger
- clenched-fist bite wounds
- pyogenic flexor tenosynovitis
Management
- superficial wounds
- elevation, warm soaks, analgesics
- splinting in the position of function
- empiric antibiotics when indicated.

- surgical consultation
