• normal pattern of pigmentation

Epidemiology

• more easily seen in persons of color

Clinical manifestations

• dorsal surfaces are hyperpigmented relative to ventral surfaces
• bilateral symmetrical localized transition between lighter & darker pigment
• may be observed on posteromedial legs, anterolateral upper arms, central chest & midback
