Introduction
Term used to estimate the length of time required for benefit of treatment to be realized. This can then be compared with the estimated life expectancy. For elderly patients this may be more useful than number needed to treat or other measure of treatment benefit.
Management
- comprehensive geriatric assessment useful may be useful in counseling elderly with cancer & their oncologists regarding life expectancy vs the time horizon for benefits of treatments
