Indications

• prevention of osteoporosis
  • for high-risk women b will NOT help menopausal symptoms

Dosage

• apply patch once weekly
  • patch provides 14 ug/day of estradiol
• in combination with progestin for 14 days every 6-12 months

Adverse effects

• dose thought to be too low to cause endometrial hyperplasia

• drug adverse effects of estrogens
