• Candida glabrata

Pathology

• budding yeast of Candida glabrata appearscto produce high levels of ethanol in urine

Laboratory

• ethanol in blood negative
• ethyl glucuronide in urine negative

Complications

• patient wihcirrhosis & poorly controlled diabetes mellitus, denied placement on liver transplant list because od consistently high urinary levels of ethanol
