Indications
- immunization of children 4-12* years of age
- may be used if 2nd dose of MMR is to be administered
Contraindications
- infants 1-2 years of age*
Adverse effects
* CDC recommends that MMR vaccine be given separate from varicella vaccine at 1-2 years of age due to risk of febrile seizures
* at 4-6 years of age the risk of febrile seizures has resolved[4]
Mechanism of action
- attenuated live virus vaccine that combines measles, mumps, rubella & varicella viruses
