Introduction

Etiology
- physical stress or emotional stress
Epidemiology
- rare
Pathology
- rupture of capillaries that feed sweat glands causing them to exude blood
Clinical manifestations
- episodes may be proceeded by intense headache & abdominal pain
- oozing of blood or blood-tinged sweat from forehead, nails, umbilicus, nose, tears
- usually self-limiting
Laboratory
- non-diagnostic
Management
- reports of successful treatment with beta-blockers
