Etiology
Pathology
- acute distruction of spinal cord at 1 or more cervical spine or thoracic spine levels
Clinical manifestations
- paralysis below the level of the lesion
- sphincter dysfunction with loss of bowel & bladder function
- hypotonia & areflexia below the level of the lesion
- autonomic dysfunction below the level of the lesion
- hypotension
- no Babinski sign
