Introduction
Normally, the stroke of the plantar aspect of the foot from the heel towards the great toe produces plantar flexion of the toes or often frank withdrawal. In pyramidal tract disorders, this stimulus produces one or more of the following:
- dorsiflexion of the great toe
- fanning of all toes
- dorsiflexion of the ankle
- flexion of the knee or thigh.
