Mechanism of action
- nonthermal, noninvasive, focused scanning ultrasound, coupled with intravenously injected microbubbles, stimulates transient openings in the blood brain barrier
the microbubbles are acoustically activated, expanding and contracting over several cycles, resulting in an opening of endothelial tight junctions & allowing movement across the blood brain barrier
