Indications
- prevention of Zika virus infection
Dosage
- 1 or 2 mg of Zika virus DNA vaccine at baseline, 4 weeks, & 12 weeks[3]
- injections followed by electroporation (use of a pulsed electric field to introduce the DNA into cells)[3]
Mechanism of action
- whole virus inactivated vaccine
- protein shell is still intact
- can provoke an immune response from host
Comparative biology
- single dose of DNA vaccine against Zika virus provides protection in rhesus macaques[2]
