postobstructive pneumonia

Etiology

• bronchial carcinoid
• foreign body
• bronchial stricture

Pathology

• airway obstruction in bronchial tree
• lobar pneumonia in segment of lung distal to obstruction

Clinical manifestations

• localized wheezing

Radiology

• chest X-ray: persistent pulmonary infiltrate

Management

• relieve underlying airway obstruction
