urticaria multiforme

Etiology

• may be triggered by viral infection

Clinical manifestations

case report of 3 yo girl

• pruritus & urticaria may develop into
  • generalized annular rash with wheals & central ecchymosis
  • blanching urticaria
• dermographism
• low-grade fever
• edema of hands, feet, & face
• mucosa not involved

Laboratory

• complete blood count (CBC), urinalysis, basic metabolic panel unremarkable

Differential diagnosis

• erythema multiforme

Management

• dephenhydramine
