Etiology
- involvement of L5-S1 disc affecting nerve root S1
Pathology
- involved muscles include:
- gastrocnemeus
- soleus
- peroneus longus
- peroneus brevis
- gluteus maximus
Clinical manifestations
- Achilles tendon reflex affected
- weakness of plantar flexion of foot at ankle
- weakness of foot plantar flexion & foot eversion
- weakness of extension at hip
- lass of sensation posterior leg, lateral foot, lateral small toe
