- screening for HIV infection
- identifies both HIV1 & HIV2
- presence of HIV1 p24 Ag prior to HIV1 Ab identifies HIV1 acute retroviral syndrome
Interferences
- Covid-19 infection may cause false-positive HIV screening tests (4th generation)[2]
