- certain medications should be stored in their original containers
- adefovir (Hepsera)
- original container has a desiccant
- aliskiren & its combinations
- must be protected from moisture & heat
- amoxicillin clavulanate (reason unclear)
- aspirin/dipyridamole (Aggrenox)
- must be protected from moisture
- original container has a desiccant
- azilsartan (Edarbi) & its combinations
- must be protected from light & moisture
- original container has a desiccant
- bedaquiline (Sirturo) tabs
- can be dispensed in original container, or a tight, light-resistant container
- must be used within 3 months if stored in a container other than the original
- cobicistat/elvitegravir/emtricitabine/tenofovir (Stribild)
- original container has a desiccant
- cyclosporine, oral solution
- must be used within 2 months once original container is opened
- dabigatran (Pradaxa)
- must be protected from moisture.
- must be used within 4 months once original bottle is opened
- original container has a desiccant in the bottle cap
- dimethyl fumarate (Tecfidera)
- must be protected from light
- must be used within 90 days once original bottle is opened (U.S. product labeling only)
