Indications

* coma; absence of motor response, pupillary response, corneal reflex, jaw jerk, gag reflex, oculovestibular reflex, reaction to craniofacial pain, cough with tracheal suctioning, sucking reflex

Clinical significance

  • a positive test confirms brain death
  • no further testing is indicated
