Introduction
Tradenames: Thrombinar.
Indications
- hemostasis whenever minor bleeding from capillaries & small venules is accessible
Dosage
- use 1000-2000 units/mL where bleeding is perfuse
- apply powder directly to site of bleeding or oozing surfaces
- use 100 units/mL for bleeding from skin or mucosal surfaces
Powder: (topical) 1000, 5000, 10,000, 20,000 units.
Adverse effects
- not common (1-10%)
