Introduction
inflammation of the trochlea
Pathology
- inflammation of the superior oblique tendon trochlea apparatus
- inflammation causes swelling & fraying of the superior oblique tendon which increases friction of the tendon passing through the trochlea which in turn adds to the inflammation
Clinical manifestations
- localized swelling, tenderness, & severe pain around the affected eye
- point tenderness in the upper medial rim of the orbit
Complications
- may trigger or worsen migraines
