Indications

• diagnosis of coronary artery disease

Advantages

• provides best images in larger patients
• provides data on myocardial perfusion & myocardial function
• study duration is shorter & radiation dose is lower than conventional myocardial perfusion study
• absolute myocardial blood flow can be measured
• can be combined with coronary artery calcium

Disadvantages

• not widely available
• expensive
• pharmacologic stress only, no exercise stress
