Clinical manifestations
- a young woman with history of migraines has chest pain with ST segment depression suggests coronary vasospasm
- a young person with chest pain following a 'party' suggests cocaine toxicity (do not treat with beta blockers)
- a tall, thin person with long arms has chest pain with a new diastolic murmur consistent with aortic insufficiency suggests Marfan's syndrome & aortic dissection
- a young person with onset of chest pain during exercise suggests pneumothorax
- a young person has sharp or pleuritic chest pain with a a normal or nonspecific ECG suggest pulmonary embolism
