Introduction
Interactions:
- antihypertensive agents that lower serum uric acid decrease risk of gout
- antihypertensive agents that elevate serum uric acid increase risk of gout
- diuretics
- beta-blockers
- ACE inhibitors
- ARBs (other than losartan)[1]
Management
- calcium-channel blockers & the ARB losartan lower serum urate & may be useful in patient with both hypertension & gout[1][2]
