Pathology
- primary disorder of articular cartilage
- continued cartilage loss & destructive bone changes
Genetics
- autosomal recessive
- associated with defects in WISP3
Clinical manifestations
- stiffness & swelling of joints
- muscle weakness
- joint contractures
- signs & symptoms generally develop 3-8 years of age
