- store whole blood at 4 degrees C
- store tissue at -20 degrees C or below
Procedure
- polymerase chain reaction
- FDA approves COBAS AmpliPrep/COBAS TaqMan CMV test to meausure plasma CMV viral in patients with organ transplant July 2012[4]
Notes
- optimal PCR conditions utilize primers to conserved region of the CMV major immediate-early gene
- a quantitative PCR protocol has been described
