Pathology
diseases associated with ingestion of shellfish:
- Vibrio species
- V. vulnificus (raw oysters)
- V. parahaemolyticus (undercooked shellfish)
- hepatitis A virus
- Norwalk virus
- migraine headaches may be precipitated by shellfish
- food allergies may occur with ingestion of shellfish.
