Introduction

Tongue-shaped process:

Lingula cerebelli (lingula of the cerebellum): A tongue-shaped flattenned cerebellar folia forming the anterior or superior aspect of the cerebellar vermis. It extends forward on the surface of the superior medullary velum between the 2 superior cerebellar peduncles

Lingula pulmonis sinistri (lingula of the left lung): An inferomedial projection of the anterior-inferior aspect of the left upper lobe of the lung. Inferiorly, it bounds the cardiac notch.

Lingula mandibulae (lingula of the mandible): Pointed tongue of bone on the mandible serving as the site of attachment of the sphenomandibular ligament.

Lingula sphenoidalis: A slender process of the sphenoid projecting posteriorly between the body & greater wing. It forms the laterial margin of the carotid groove (bilaterally). It projects into the foramen lacerum.
