cytochrome P450 4A22 (CYPIVA22, fatty acid omega-hydroxylase, Lauric acid omega-hydroxylase, CYP4A22)

From Aaushi
Jump to navigation Jump to search

Function

  • catalyzes the omega- & (omega-1)-hydroxylation of various fatty acids such as laurate & palmitate
  • no activity towards arachidonic acid & prostaglandin A1
  • lacks functional activity in the kidney
  • does not contribute to renal 20-hydroxyeicosatetraenoic acid (20-HETE) biosynthesis
octane + reduced rubredoxin + O2
             <-->
1-octanol + oxidized rubredoxin + H2O

Kinetic parameters:

  • KM=56.7 uM for laurate
  • Vmax: 15.2 umol/min/umol enzyme
