Introduction
ground up pork thyroid gland
Dosage
- contains BOTH levothyroxine (T4) & liothyronine (T3)
- 38 ug levothyroxine (T4) & 9 ug liothyronine (T3) per grain of thyroid
- Niva thyroid 15, 30, 60, 90, 120, 180, 240, 300 mg
- Apur thyroid 15, 30, 60, 90, 120 mg
- Adthyza thyroid 15, 30, 60, 90, 120 mg
Pharmacokinetics
- the T4/T3 ratio is 14 compared with 4 in pigs[2]
- serum T4 tends to be low & serum T3 tends to be high relative to normal patients not receiving thyroid hormone replacement[2]
- thyroxine alone results in serum T4/T3 ratio indistinguishable from those of normal people without thyroid disease[2]
