Introduction
Triangular area of the anterior elbow.
Structure
Contents:
- biceps brachii tendon
- brachial artery
- median nerve
- radial nerve & ulnar nerve are in the vicinity of the cubital fossa
- several veins lie superficial to the cubital fossa
Clinical significance
- blood pressure is measured by placing the stethoscope over the brachial artery in the cubital fossa.
- veins superficial to the cubital fossa are used for venipucture
