Structure
- the smaller of the 2 membranous sacs in the vestibula of the labyrinth, lying in the spherical recess
- it is connected with the cochlear duct by the ductus reunion & with the utricle by the ductus endolymphaticus & the ductus utriculosaccularis
Pathology
- association between high-frequency hearing loss in elderly & diminished saccular function[2]
